Trujillo's deposit in Banreservas ends up in favor of the State

The Dominican state has secured a legal victory regarding a 76-year-old deposit made by former dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo at the Banco de Reservas. The funds, originally intended for Lina Altagracia Lovatón Pittaluga, became the subject of a protracted judicial dispute initiated by two of Trujillo's children who sought to recover the money.

The court ruling concludes the long-standing legal battle, effectively denying the heirs' claims to the assets. The decision confirms that the funds will remain in the possession of the state rather than being transferred to the descendants of the former dictator.
