Trujillo's deposit in Banreservas ends up in favor of the State

A 76-year-old bank deposit made by former Dominican dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo at the Banco de Reservas has been awarded to the Dominican State. The ruling concludes a long-standing legal dispute initiated by two of Trujillo's children, who sought to recover the funds originally intended for their mother, Lina Altagracia Lovatón Pittaluga.

The judicial battle centered on the ownership of these historical assets, which had remained in the bank for decades. With the court's decision, the state successfully retains the funds, effectively ending the heirs' claims to the capital.
