Gov. DeSantis declares state of emergency for 25 Florida counties due to Tropical Depression Nine

Ron DeSantis signed an executive order on Tuesday declaring a state of emergency in 25 counties as a precaution due to Tropical Depression Nine in the Gulf. Tropical Depression Nine officially formed on Tuesday afternoon and is expected to start drifting toward the northeast later this week. It's currently forecast to develop into a hurricane on Thursday and hit the northern Gulf Coast on Friday afternoon.
