Deutsche Welle reverses decision to close Greek-language service

German international broadcaster Deutsche Welle has reversed its decision to shut down its historic Greek-language programme, which was originally scheduled to close at the beginning of 2027.

The reversal follows sustained pressure from Greece and interventions at the highest political level. The discontinuation of the Greek service had initially been announced in February as part of broader operational changes.
