Díaz-Canel describes dialogue with the U.S. as "stalled" and denies being close to "collapse"

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel acknowledged in an interview with the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo that diplomatic talks between Cuba and the United States are currently stalled. Despite the stagnation, the Cuban leader maintained that there is a continuing willingness to engage in dialogue with Washington.

In the same interview published on August 24 in Havana, Díaz-Canel directly addressed and denied claims that the Cuban government is nearing political or economic collapse, pushing back against outside assessments of the island nation's stability.
