Police Chief pushes for police reform in Congress

The Director General of the National Police, Major General Ernesto Rafael Rodríguez García, held a meeting on Wednesday with the presidents of the Senate, Ricardo de los Santos, and the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco, in Santo Domingo. The purpose of the meeting was to advocate for the ongoing police reform initiative currently before the legislature.

During the discussions, the police director emphasized the critical importance of securing congressional approval for the proposed reform measures. The legislative leaders from both chambers received the Director General to discuss the institutional changes and legislative pathways required to advance the modernization of the national police force.
