Police Chief pushes for police reform in Congress

The Director General of the Dominican Republic National Police, Major General Ernesto Rafael Rodríguez García, held a meeting on Wednesday with the presidents of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, Ricardo de los Santos and Alfredo Pacheco respectively. The purpose of the meeting was to advocate for the approval of the ongoing police reform in Congress.

During the discussions, the police director emphasized the critical importance of passing the legislative measures associated with the institutional restructuring. The engagement with top congressional leadership underscores efforts by law enforcement to secure political backing for the modernization and reform initiatives currently before the legislative branch.
