The Bogotá District administration, through the Secretariat of Mobility, has defended its controversial plan to install a traffic light system at the roundabout located at 63rd Street with 50th Carrera. Despite facing public criticism, the local government maintained that the implementation will proceed as scheduled, starting September 20, 2026.

Authorities justified the infrastructure change by stating that the decision was a direct response to requests from the local community, which had demanded a pedestrian and vehicular crossing at the location.
