Ahead of the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria, African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has publicly dismissed concerns regarding his age by asserting that he is fit and healthy. Challenging public perception, the candidate rhetorically asked, "Do I look 80?"

In addition to addressing his own fitness for office, Abubakar commented on incumbent President Bola Tinubu, claiming the president was 90 years old. Meanwhile, separate security concerns arose concurrently in Kogi State, where gunmen reportedly killed an All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman and abducted another individual.
