Researchers in Ecuador have documented Andean bumblebees feeding on condor feces and carrion. This observation, detailed in a recent study, marks the first time this specific behavior has been recorded in the species within South America.

The discovery provides new insight into the dietary habits of these insects, expanding the understanding of their ecological role beyond traditional nectar consumption. The findings were formally released in late August.
