Don’t leave Hong Kong parents to their own devices on child social media use

Hong Kong's young population engages heavily with social media and digital screens, beginning at a very early age. According to recent data, nearly 35 per cent of kindergarten pupils in the city log at least one hour of recreational screen time daily.

This high usage escalates further as children grow older. By the time students reach the junior forms of secondary school, approximately 60 per cent of them exceed international screen time guidelines, highlighting a growing challenge for families and educators managing youth technology habits.
