Two defendants in the 'Pitanxo' case receive their trial notification, while the shipowner's administrator claims medical problems.

On a Wednesday, two of the accused individuals in the Villa de Pitanxo shipwreck case appeared in person at the Audiencia Nacional to collect their trial notifications. The defendants include the captain of the fishing vessel and another accused party, while the administrator of the shipowning company cited medical issues.

The legal proceedings stem from the February 2022 maritime disaster, in which 21 crew members died when the Villa de Pitanxo sank 250 miles off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada.
