Dozens of attacks in Thailand's restive south leave 2 injured

Dozens of coordinated attacks occurred in Thailand's southernmost provinces, resulting in two injuries. The incidents took place within a region that has experienced a persistent, low-level insurgency for two decades.

Since 2004, this conflict between rebels seeking greater autonomy and the Thai state has resulted in more than 7,000 fatalities. The region remains characterized by its Muslim-majority population in contrast to the Buddhist-majority nation.
