Doubling GDP will require an increase in energy generation

Economist Henri Hebrard stated that achieving the goal of doubling the gross domestic product (PIB) of the Dominican Republic will require a significant increase in energy generation. Speaking on the matter, Hebrard highlighted that the country must anticipate a 47.6 percent growth in energy demand between the years 2025 and 2036.

This projected surge in energy requirements corresponds to a continuous annual expansion rate to support the broader economic objective of doubling the nation's overall economic output over the specified timeframe.
