Doubling GDP will require an increase in energy generation

Economist Henri Hebrard stated that achieving the goal of doubling the gross domestic product (PIB) of the Dominican Republic requires preparing for a significant increase in energy generation. Specifically, the country must anticipate a 47.6 percent growth in energy demand between the years 2025 and 2036.

This projected rise in energy requirements corresponds to a continuous annual expansion rate necessary to support the broader economic target of doubling the size of the national economy over the specified timeframe.
