East Bay family cat euthanized after contracting rabies

(KRON) -- An indoor pet cat in the East Bay that tested positive for rabies last month was euthanized, the Alameda County Public Health Department and Vector Control said. The domestic cat lived at a Pleasanton household and was considered “indoor-only” but was allowed regular access to a balcony, according to health officials.
