EBRD working with Romanian Energy Ministry on support schemes for long-term storage

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is collaborating with the Romanian Ministry of Energy to design and implement support schemes for long-term energy storage. The initiative aims to mirror the successful support frameworks previously established for renewable energy projects in the country.

Current efforts are focused on assessing the specific market demand for storage capacity and evaluating the maturity of existing project proposals. This process is intended to determine the most effective mechanisms to incentivize the development of long-term storage infrastructure in Romania.
