Videos circulating on social media on Sunday appeared to show Carse in handcuffs and being led away from a club by police officers. It came after his team, Durham, beat Derbyshire in the County Championship.
The footage reportedly was from outside a nightclub in the East Midlands city of Derby on Saturday. “We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night,” the England and Wales Cricket Board said in a statement Sunday, “and are currently investigating. “We will provide a further update when possible.” Carse hasn’t yet been removed from the England squad for the second test starting Thursday at Lord’s.
