República Dominicana has successfully increased student enrollment and retention rates across its educational cycles. However, this progress in coverage has not been matched by equivalent improvements in student learning outcomes.

Specifically, academic performance remains critically low in key subjects. According to the data, only two percent of students in the country achieve the required proficiency level in mathematics.
