Education begins school year with a focus on learning and AI

Public schools in the Dominican Republic officially opened for the 2026-2027 academic year this Monday, following a two-month summer break. The Ministry of Education has announced that the new term will prioritize student learning outcomes and the integration of artificial intelligence within the curriculum.

Authorities have projected a total enrollment of 2,686,971 students across the public school system. The academic year commenced with an official opening ceremony to mark the start of the new instructional period.
