EH Bildu calls for placing the debate on a "new political status" for the Basque Country at the center.

On October 25, Pello Otxandiano, spokesperson for EH Bildu in the Basque Parliament, called for placing the debate regarding a new political status for the Basque Country at the center of the regional agenda. The statement was made in Bilbao to coincide with the 47th anniversary of the approval of the Statute of Gernika.

Otxandiano emphasized the necessity of advancing toward a new political framework for the region. The proposal seeks to initiate a formal discussion on the future of Basque self-governance, moving beyond the current statutory model established in 1979.
