Eight out of ten Spaniards want to strengthen the Ceuta and Melilla border but want a good relationship with Morocco

According to a recent barometer poll in Spain, approximately 82 percent of Spanish citizens favor reinforcing the borders of Ceuta and Melilla to prevent mass unauthorized entries. At the same time, an even larger majority, roughly 86 percent, emphasizes the strong necessity of maintaining good relations and reaching understandings with Rabat to ensure national border security.

The findings highlight a dual public priority among Spaniards regarding North African migration and diplomacy. While citizens overwhelmingly support physical and operational enhancements at the border checkpoints of the two autonomous Spanish cities, they simultaneously view diplomatic cooperation with Morocco as an essential component of overall security management.
