The BNG believes the Government is not "up to the task" in the Ceuta crisis and distances itself from the FEMP demonstrations

During the migration crisis in Ceuta, political figures have criticized the central government's response and questioned official accounts of the border crossing. Ana Pontón, leader of the BNG, stated that the Spanish government failed to meet the demands of the situation, while also accusing the Popular Party and Vox of attempting to foster xenophobia. As part of this political divergence, the BNG distanced itself from official demonstrations called by the FEMP regarding the crisis.

Simultaneously, ERC President Oriol Junqueras publicly challenged statements made by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Junqueras argued that it is implausible to believe Moroccan authorities were unaware that thousands of individuals would cross the Ceuta border, highlighting deep political skepticism among parliamentary allies regarding the handling and origins of the migration event.
