The Ombudsman is analyzing 450 cases of victims of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church

The Spanish Ombudsman's Office is currently reviewing 450 files from individuals seeking recognition as victims of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church. This process is managed by the institution's Victims Unit, which evaluates each case to determine the applicant's status as a victim of such abuse.

Of the total number of files under review, 149 have reached the final stage of the administrative process. This phase represents the conclusion of the evaluation, moving the applicants closer to formal recognition by the state institution.
