Portuguese writer Álvaro Magalhães wins the XXII Iberoamerican SM Prize for Children's and Youth Literature

Portuguese writer Álvaro Magalhães, born in Oporto in 1951, has won the twenty-second edition of the Ibero-American SM Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature.

The announcement was made in Madrid on September 24. The international award recognizes the lifetime achievement and career excellence of authors who have dedicated their work to writing literature for children and young people across Ibero-America.
