Spaniard David Almansa sets a new record, with leader Máximo Quiles close behind.

Spanish motorcycle rider David Almansa, competing on a KTM, set a new absolute Moto3 lap record during the second free practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix.

His compatriot and category leader Máximo Quiles, also riding a KTM, closely followed Almansa's pace, finishing directly behind him during the session.
