The judge in the 'Leire case' is hearing testimony today from the former director general of the Civil Guard, Leonardo Marcos, as a defendant.

Santiago Pedraz, the National Court judge leading the 'Leire case', is scheduled to question Leonardo Marcos, the former Director General of the Civil Guard, as an investigated party this Thursday. Although the judge initially dismissed the possibility of his imputation, Marcos's appearance follows accusations from a commander who linked him to alleged pressures.

The judicial investigation centers on the suspected maneuvers of Leire Díez, a former socialist militant, aimed at boycotting judicial cases and discrediting investigators. Specifically, Marcos has been singled out in connection with alleged pressures directed against the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard.
