The Government accuses Feijóo of "generating anxiety" in Ceuta with the lockdown: "What is contagious is xenophobia"

Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration Elma Saiz has publicly criticized opposition leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo for his proposal to confine migrants in Ceuta. Saiz characterized Feijóo's suggestion, which was based on claims of a sanitary risk, as a display of grave irresponsibility that generates unnecessary fear and anxiety among the local population.

In response to the proposal, the government spokesperson rejected the premise of a health crisis and redirected the discourse toward the rhetoric used by the Popular Party. Saiz explicitly countered the call for confinement by stating that the true contagion present in the situation is xenophobia, positioning the government's stance against the opposition's approach to migration management.
