The Government confirms the death of a Spaniard in the 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Colombia

The Spanish government has confirmed the death of a Spanish citizen, who held dual nationality, following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia this past Monday. Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, officially announced the fatality while providing updates on the status of other Spanish nationals in the region.

In addition to confirming the death, authorities reported a significant reduction in the number of Spanish citizens currently listed as missing. The count of unaccounted individuals has decreased from 75 to 12, as recovery and communication efforts continue in the aftermath of the seismic event.
