Bolivia extended the state of emergency for 90 days amid the risk of further protests and is awaiting parliamentary approval.

The Bolivian government approved a decree on Monday to extend the ongoing state of exception for an additional 90 days. The measure, which must be reviewed and approved by Parliament, is intended to remain in effect while risk factors persist.

The state of exception was originally implemented on June 20. The current extension is being enacted specifically in response to the ongoing risk of new social mobilizations and protests within the country.
