The Guatemalan government launches a campaign against digital racism and hate speech

The Government of Guatemala, acting through the Presidential Commission Against Discrimination and Racism (CODISRA), has officially launched a national campaign aimed at combating digital racism and hate speech. The initiative encourages citizens to refrain from sharing aggressive content, urges the reporting of such material on social media platforms, and emphasizes the importance of providing support to victims of online harassment.

This campaign is being introduced in the period leading up to the International Day of the World's Indigenous People. By addressing the prevalence of discriminatory discourse in digital spaces, the government seeks to foster a more respectful online environment and mitigate the impact of hate speech on vulnerable populations.
