Guatemalan National Civil Police (PNC) officers dismantled a criminal group specializing in cargo vehicle theft in the parcelamiento El Cedro, located in the village of Bárcenas, Villa Nueva. The operation resulted in the recovery of two stolen trucks and the apprehension of nine individuals, consisting of eight adults and one minor who was subsequently remanded to authorities.

The intervention was initiated after a GPS tracking device installed in one of the stolen vehicles alerted authorities to the group's location. The suspects were intercepted while in the process of offloading the hijacked cargo, marking a significant disruption of organized theft activities in the region.
