Ideam warned of increased temperatures and a lack of rain in different regions of the country starting in September

Meteorological institutes in Colombia and Cuba have issued warnings regarding the impact of the El Niño climate phenomenon. The Colombian Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam) projects a period of rising temperatures and reduced rainfall across various regions of the country beginning in September.

Similarly, the Cuban Institute of Meteorology (Insmet) has cautioned that the ongoing El Niño-Southern Oscillation could lead to elevated temperatures and drought conditions on the island. Additionally, Cuban authorities have highlighted an increased risk of cyclonic activity as a potential consequence of these shifting weather patterns.
