The minimum living income reached 879,225 households in July, 16.9% more than a year ago

In July, the Spanish government's Minimum Vital Income (IMV) reached 879,225 households. This figure represents an increase of 126,756 active benefits compared to the same period last year, marking a 16.9% year-over-year growth according to data from the National Social Security Institute.

The expansion of the IMV occurs alongside broader economic indicators in Spain. While the program provides support to households, wage growth in collective bargaining agreements reached 3.02% through July, remaining below the current inflation rate. Simultaneously, the financial sector has seen activity in alternative markets, including a 15 million euro convertible bond issuance by the energy firm Ecoener.
