According to a study presented by the Plataforma Jazz España (PJE), the genre is consolidating its position in Spain with a scheduled 127 festivals for the year 2025. Despite this growth, the sector continues to face significant challenges regarding gender equality.

The research reveals that female leadership within festival programming remains low, hovering at approximately 20 percent. This persistent disparity highlights what the organization has identified as a notable gender gap within the Spanish jazz landscape.
