International tourism in Soria, Spain, more than tripled during the August 12 solar eclipse, surging from 6.3 percent to 17.9 percent of overall tourism. More than 7,000 visitors gathered in the natural area of Valonsadero to observe the celestial event.

The influx of international spectators included travelers from France, the Americas, the Netherlands, Italy, Japan, and Canada, highlighting the global draw of the astronomical phenomenon for the region.
