The president of Ceuta calls for a "national emergency" in response to the migratory pressure on the city

The president of the Autonomous City of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, has declared a state of "absolute humanitarian and social emergency" due to the intense migratory pressure the Spanish city has experienced in recent days. Vivas, a member of the Partido Popular (PP), formally requested support from the Spanish central government to address the situation, which he has further characterized as a matter of national emergency.

To manage the crisis, Vivas has proposed the establishment of a "single command" to coordinate the response to the influx of migrants. This proposal aims to centralize efforts to address the ongoing challenges currently facing the North African territory.
