Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian stated on Saturday that his administration is awaiting a response from the United States regarding a proposed plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. During his remarks, Pezeshkian also indicated that Iran remains open to the possibility of receiving United Nations inspectors as part of the diplomatic process.

Despite these overtures, Pezeshkian expressed significant skepticism toward the United States. He cited a history of repeated sanctions and military actions following previous negotiations as the primary reason for his lack of trust in Washington, even while pursuing current diplomatic channels.
