Lebanese President Joseph Aoun held a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday to request intervention regarding the ongoing conflict in southern Lebanon. Aoun urged the United States to exert pressure on Israel to immediately cease its military operations in the region.
