Feijóo lashes out at Sánchez for adopting the "Junqueras model" for his survival

On September 5, People's Party (PP) president Alberto Núñez Feijóo launched a sharp attack against Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez during a meeting of the Council of Fiscal and Financial Policy (CPFF). Feijóo criticized Sánchez for adopting what he termed the "modelo de Junqueras" to ensure his political survival, noting that the model was rejected by a majority of the council's voters.

In response, the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) fiercely criticized Feijóo's stance. Pilar Bernabé, the PSOE's secretary of equality, questioned the PP leader's commitment to the nation, arguing that his opposition to the financing model demonstrates that he would rather have citizens in various autonomous communities lose purchasing power and basic public services than support the measures.
