On August 16, two separate police unions in Spain raised concerns regarding administrative and political relations. The Confederación Española de Policía (CEP) publicly criticized the Basque Minister of Security, Bingen Zupiria, labeling his recent comments regarding state security force commanders as irresponsible and disloyal. The dispute centers on Zupiria's assertions concerning the conduct of certain security officials.

Simultaneously, the Sindicato Unificado de Policía (SUP) in Ceuta requested an urgent meeting with the city's president, Juan Jesús Vivas. The union cited a perceived administrative blockade by the Government Delegation and expressed concerns over the operational pressure and public safety challenges resulting from the recent migration crisis in the autonomous city.
