Trampoline Beach in Ceuta, an improvised camp where 1,500 migrants are rebuilding their lives

Around 1,500 migrants have established an improvised camp at Playa del Trampolín in the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta, which borders Morocco. The makeshift settlement arose in early August as a direct result of overcrowding at the city's official Centro de Estancia Temporal de Inmigrantes (CETI).

With the primary reception facility entirely oversaturated and lacking available space, the hundreds of individuals have been forced to remain on the beach as they attempt to rebuild their lives under improvised conditions.
