Authorities in Colombia have reported that the death toll from a 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck the northwest of the country has risen to 273, with more than 3,800 people sustaining injuries. The seismic event, which occurred earlier in the week on August 10, prompted a significant national response as rescue and relief efforts continue in the affected regions.

In the wake of the disaster, Colombian singer Karol G broke her silence on social media three days after the earthquake. The Antioquian artist shared a message of solidarity directed at her home country, expressing her affection with the words, "Colombia, te amo, TE AMO".
