Embattled Infantino says Fifa must close financial gap between ‘big countries’ and ‘others’

FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated on Sunday in Zurich that the governing body must work to close the financial gap between major footballing nations and smaller countries. The remarks come as Infantino prepares for a leadership re-election scheduled for next year.

At the same time, regional football powerhouses are reportedly discussing the possibility of moving a vote of no confidence against Infantino ahead of the upcoming ballot.
