According to data from the Plataforma Civil de Incidencia Comunitaria a la Respuesta del VIH (PLACIC), Costa Rica diagnoses an average of four cases of gonorrhea daily, equating to one person diagnosed every six hours.
This high frequency of diagnoses has prompted a group of organizations to call for strengthened preventive and educational measures to address the spread of the sexually transmitted infection within the country.
