In Spain, 186,480 hectares have burned this year compared to 33,360 in the same period of 2025.

According to provisional government data released on August 1, nearly 187,000 hectares of forest have burned in Spain since the beginning of the year. Specifically, the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge reported that 186,480 hectares had been calcined up to this date.

This year's figures represent a sharp increase compared to the same period in the previous year, during which 33,360 hectares were burned. The difference between the two periods amounts to 153,120 hectares.
