ENFIA 2027: tax reset to zero in 131 more settlements — full list and conditions

Greece has announced plans to abolish the ENFIA property tax on primary residences in an additional 131 settlements, with the policy set to take effect in 2027. The expansion broadens the criteria for tax exemption by raising the nationwide population cap for eligible settlements from 1,500 to 2,000 inhabitants.

In addition to the nationwide adjustment, the government has established a specific demographic threshold for Western Macedonia, where settlements with up to 2,200 residents will qualify for the zero-tax status. This measure targets relief for property owners in specific rural and smaller communities across the country.

The initiative forms part of ongoing adjustments to Greece's property tax framework, aiming to reduce the financial burden on residents in smaller demographic centers. The complete rollout of the exemption, along with the detailed conditions for eligibility, is slated alongside the implementation date in 2027.
