The engineer performed a reboot of the aircraft's systems, which resulted in a 17-minute departure delay. Following an internal investigation, the airline terminated his employment, citing concerns over his conduct.

Legal proceedings regarding the termination have concluded with the engineer failing to secure reinstatement. While the tribunal awarded the former employee $40,000 in compensation, it upheld the decision to end his employment.
