England great considered taking own life after CTE diagnosis

England rugby great Phil Vickery has revealed that he considered taking his own life following a diagnosis of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated head injuries.

In response to his diagnosis, Vickery has pledged to donate his brain for ongoing scientific research into the neurological damage caused by head injuries in sport.
