Spain extends controls on travelers from Italy to the airports of Malaga, Seville, Bilbao, Alicante and Valencia

Spain has expanded border and health controls to encompass travelers arriving from Italy at five additional airports: Málaga, Sevilla, Bilbao, Alicante, and Valencia. These measures went into effect on a Saturday, following the initial implementation of the protocols at Madrid-Barajas and Barcelona airports starting at midnight.

The expanded screening procedures involve random, non-systematic checks on incoming passengers from Italy to monitor and manage potential health risks. The progressive rollout across a total of seven major Spanish airports demonstrates a stepped operational approach by authorities to secure key international transit hubs.
